Education:
In November 2003: Sebastiano Serrao completed a Ph.D. in Ophthalmology and Refractive Surgery at the Catholic University of Rome (Italy).

In April 2002: he went to Baltimore (MD), as a visiting doctor, to the “Corneal and Cataract Service” of the “Wilmer Eye Institute” at the Johns Hopkins Hospital.

In March 2002: he went to New York (NY) to attend the refractive surgery centre “Laserone”.

In April 2000 Sebastiano Serrao went to Columbus Ohio, to the Revision Eye Centre, under the direction of James Schumer MD, where he completed the “Nidek EC-5000 Excimer Laser Training and certification course”.

In 1996 Sebastiano Serrao was registered to the General Medical Council and attended the medical retina department of the Moorfields Eye Hospital (London, UK) directed by Prof. A.C. Bird.

During the 1991 1992 academic year he graduated in medicine and surgery from the Catholic University Of The Sacred Heart (Rome, Italy).

Specialty:
In November 1997 he finished his residency in Ophthalmology obtaining a summa cum laude diploma at the ophthalmology department of the Catholic University Of The Sacred Heart (Rome, Italy).

Professional Expierence:
1997-2010 Founder and Director of the refractive laser centre “Serraolaser” in Rome.

1993-2004 he has been working at the Department of Ophthalmology of the Catholic University of Rome where he performed cataract, cornea transplant and refractive surgery using excimer laser. Dr. Serrao has performed over 2000 ophthalmic surgeries.

From 1993 to 1994 he was a medical officer in the Italian airforce.
